Purpose and goal:
The goal of the project was to prepare and submit a grant proposal to the Horizon Europe call: HORIZON-HLTH-2024-Disease-03-08-two-stage: "Comparative effectiveness research for healthcare interventions in areas of high public health need".
The goal was to develop, implement and evaluate a preventive health promotion intervention for people at risk of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in low socioeconomic status (SES) areas of Uganda and the EU. Expected results and effects:
Relevant, committed partners have been identified for the process of developing, evaluating and implementing interventions.
The context analysis has identified the population (P), intervention (I), environment (E) and transmission (T) criteria. The result of PIET-T-processmodel will be valuable for the determination of transferability and evaluation of interventions in participating countries for future project.
A deeper understanding - of possible impact mechanisms for implementation of an intervention and, - how technology could be applied in both urban/rural areas. Approach and implementation: WP1 Mapping Workshops were conducted in Uganda and Belgium. Evidence is reviewed and compiled. WP2 Context analysis
Interviews, reports and health statistics mapped the context in partner countries. Data is available for the next proposal. WP3 Application
Stage 1 was written, submitted in collaboration with international partners. The work for stage 2 continued with scientific, social background information, impact analysis, economics and budgeting. Proposal did not proceed to stage 2, in personal communication with Vinnova the work could be completed for future applications.
