Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research

Purpose and goal:

The Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research rewards the best science on entrepreneurship. The prize, which was established in 1996, is the leading recognition worldwide. Vinnova has for a long time been a party to the award, through support for implementation.

The award is encourages high-quality research around entrepreneurship, and puts the Swedish research scene in contact with the leading players internationally. The work with the award includes work in the award committee, information dissemination, and the award ceremony with surrounding arrangements.

Expected results and effects:

The work with the award must be conducted professionally. An independent awards committee is responsible for reviewing received nominations and selecting winning candidates. In connection with the award, a number of texts are published for Swedish and international audiences in Small Business Economic, Ekonomisk Debatt, and op eds.

Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum arranges a series of activities, which aim to build links between Swedish research (and younger researchers in particular) and the awardee, as well as to engage Swedish policy and politics. Approach and implementation: * Ongoing work in the prize committee during the year

* Nominations take place in June-August * Obtaining expert opinions etc. takes place in September-October * Prize giving with related activities is concentrated in May

* Promotion of contacts between prize winners and the Swedish research scene takes place continuously, starting in May-June * Work with information dissemination, articles and reports takes place continuously
