Purpose and goal: The preliminary study resulted in the following reports, in addition to the final summary report: Legal memorandum on commons Policy report on commons for innovation ecosystems (also available in English) Manual for financing commons for innovation ecosystems (also available in English)
Models for describing, organizing, and analyzing commons Expected results and effects:
The preliminary study shows that there are two central aspects to achieving more effective innovation ecosystems. Firstly, the development and implementation of financing structures that promote the development, further development, and management of commons. Secondly, a deeper understanding of commons as an organizational form and its relation to outcomes.
Additionally, two areas have been identified that should be further explored - monitoring and evaluation methods, and technical platforms for managing commons in innovation ecosystems. Approach and implementation:
The preliminary study examined models, development assets, and the impact of EU regulations on commons. A reference group of 41 participants from various sectors contributed. Initially, the focus was on increasing the understanding of commons within the innovation ecosystem, which laid the foundation for the rest of the preliminary study. The study also included 9 in-depth interviews with financiers and implementers.
