Purpose and goal:
The project´s goal is to develop an intelligent system for active/adaptive lubricant supply to the work zone with simultaneous online/in-process estimation of bio-lubricant efficiency.
The proposal aims to solve some of the above problems and develop an intelligent system of active/adaptive lubricant supply to the work zone by MQL with simultaneous online/in-process estimation of lubricant performance/efficiency. Expected results and effects:
Scientific and industrial communities are currently searching for the best lubricant suitable for MQL machining that meets the environmental and high-performance requirements for certain machining operations and materials to be processed with given tools. On the other hand, there are few fundamental studies on the mechanisms of MQL-assisted machining.
Furthermore, the role of nanoadditives in lubrication and their mechanism of action are still under a question mark. The project aims at solving some fundamental problems as well as the development of practical solutions. Approach and implementation: The project consists of the following WPs: - Adaptation of MQL device to smart control and different bio-lubricants
- Influence of MQL lubrication on machining dynamics - PCM development and validation at lab conditions - Adaptation of PCM+MQL system to industrial conditions - Activities aimed at disseminating results
