The goal is to establish a research area within CO2-low aluminum production and to develop and publish a Nordic strategy for implementing the results.

The research area has been established and a network of researchers in the Nordics has been created. A number of specific research areas concerning primary and secondary metals have been identified and five project proposals created. Expected results and effects: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **

Five project proposals have been drawn up. The proposals will be the basis for future project. Approach and implementation:

A group of researchers in the Nordics has gathered to identify possible research areas to reduce CO2 emissions in aluminum production. At workshop 1, after initial studies, a number of possible areas were identified of which five were selected for deeper studies. At workshop 2, results were presented in the form of five project proposals that were judged to lead to reduced CO2 emissions.

Project proposals were presented to academia and industry at a web-based seminar organized by Jönköpings Universitet. The proposals are the basis for future applications.
