Purpose and goal:
The project has carried out a review of the various parts of a future Ni-H2 battery, which turned out to be 23 parts where the focus can be placed on future cost reductions.
Several interesting use cases were developed where specifically three use cases proved to be very suitable for NI-H2 battery technologies.
Finally, the project has performed an intellectual property strategy to highlight the patent market and potential barriers. However, no obstacles could be found, which opens the technology area for Novohydro AB to apply for a patent in the future. Expected results and effects: 1) review of the various constituent parts of a future Ni-H2 battery.
The goal is met and all 23 parts were identified. 2) models for use cases. The goal is met and several interesting use cases were identified. 3) intellectual property strategy. A simplified freedom-to -operate analysis of the market was carried out with very promising results. Approach and implementation:
Consultants from Chalmers Indistriteknik (CIT) and a well-known patent agency were hired to find out the different parts of an Ni-H2 battery, develop interesting use cases and review the intellectual property rights via a freedom-to-operate analysis. The project was able to show that the various parts of the Hi-H2 battery could be identified and that there are several interesting use cases for this battery technology that can compete with other battery technologies. Furthermore, it turned out that the patent area is relatively risk-free to operate within.
