Purpose and goal:
In order to reach the world´s climate goals, electricity power grid capacity need to be expanded at a rapid pace. Endre, a company based on research at Chalmers, uses a new AI technology based on large amounts of data to create a new type of digital twin to support electricity grid planning. Due to large amounts of data, specific database management is needed to be able to create an interactive platform using the technology.
The project has developed database management and backend infrastructure to be able to build a platform and has validated this through testing with users. Expected results and effects:
The project resulted in the development of endre´s database management and backend infrastructure. This resulted in that endre was able to develop an interactive platform based on the backend technology to validate the technology and an MVP together with users. Two pilots with grid operators have been started as a result of the project.
Approach and implementation:
The project consisted of the development of databases, systems and the necessary backend infrastructure to be able to handle and work with the large amounts of data that the technology requires. In addition to that, consultants were used to examine and user perspective in an MVP. Consultants were used as the team lacked competence in UX. Together, this enabled good project results.
