Purpose and goal: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **
The IoT system measures CO2 uptake by carbonation and fills a knowledge gap regarding passive (natural uptake) and enhanced (added methods and processes) CO2 uptake by alkaline byproducts over timescales of years in field conditions. Measurement of accumulated stored by-products and current production provides a valuable baseline of data for techno-economic evaluation and implementations regarding carbonation. This measurement data improves the conditions for experiments and organizes materials optimally.
Expected results and effects:
Reduces carbon footprint, prove and create negative emissions. Obtain data from the project´s 2 test stations that will provide answers to how much CO2 can be absorbed through the industrial site´s material streams. To obtain feedback from project partners who provide an assessment of feasibility for larger demo projects together with industrial partners.
Increased flexibility, continuous data stream, new knowledge in real conditions. Low maintenance in difficult weather and wind conditions. Robust data evidence carbonation related to carbon management and material handling. Approach and implementation:
Implementation of IoT system and web presentation for measurement of passive CO2 absorption by acquisition of mainly mass transfer data. To obtain data that can demonstrate the effect of improved organization of materials for increased CO2 absorption with the key result; 50% carbonation of theoretical uptake within 9 months. Via the project´s results, obtain data from the project´s 2 test stations that will provide answers to how much CO2 can be taken up through the industrial site´s material streams.
