Customized Vehicle Safety for All: Technical Innovation for Equitable Safety Efficiency

The project´s objective was to use AI technology to show that it is technically possible to identify a test person´s gender, age range, body size and posture based on data from our radar sensors, in order to use the technology to reduce physiological discrimination for automatic crash safety systems. The project has effectively paved the way for further development in the area.

Several of the results are directly useful in our solution. On the whole, we see the project as a successful results with good prospects going forward. Expected results and effects:

For "big" conditions such as body size and posture, we reach about 95% precision in classification, while subtle conditions such as gender and age range turn out to be not entirely unexpectedly more difficult. However, reliable classification of these is considered possible by looking at combinations of physiological characteristics over longer time windows.

The project´s results make Emsense able to take an important step forward in the development of applied AI technology, as well as show the market how this can be applied in our system for radar-based health monitoring in vehicles. Approach and implementation: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **
