National government of MIM´s

Purpose and goal:

The aim and objective of the project is to incorporate the EU´s Mimimal Interoperability Mechanisms (MIM) into DIGG´s guidelines and other artefacts and to thereby ensure a national governance of MIMs. The focus is primarily on MIM1 (API) and 2 (data models) as well as mature parts of MIM3 (data catalogue). In addition, the overarching principles behind MIMs must be described.

Expected results and effects:

The purpose behind MIMs is to ensure interoperability - a prerequisite for the EU´s vision of a, interconnected, interoperable and secure digital single market. Expected impact of incorporating MIMs into DIGG´s guidelines are clearer rules for the public sector and their suppliers. This leads to simpler procurement processes, fewer lock-in effects, higher scalability for data and digital services, and a lower threshold for suppliers to deliver their solutions.

And it enables digitalisation to help solving the large societal challenges in a more efficient way than today. Approach and implementation:

Initially, DIGG and RISE will together understand which parts of the MIMs should be included in DIGG´s guidelines. Next, it must be identified which guidelines (and other material) will be affected and in what way they are to be expanded/supplemented. The MIMs principles must also be adapted to Swedish conditions, and ambiguities in and suggestions for improvement to the original material will be communicated back to OASC (Open & Agile Smart Cities) who manage and develop MIMs. The material will be submitted for consultation before it is published.
