Purpose and goal:
The current project has fulfilled the main goals in building up a competitive consortium and developing an innovative battery concept where two different chemistries are implemented in electrical vehicles. The project involves (among others) four different partners from Germany two large companies and 1 research institute strengthening is this way the relationship between the two countries.
Moreover, Altris ( Sodium-ion battery producer) from Sweden is partner in the project expanding the market to an OEM such as NIO and other EV car manufacturers. Expected results and effects:
The preparation project has generated and finalized an EU project which was submitted to EU portal. The EU project will deliver a battery pack prototype with a combination of two cell chemistries, a user-defined capacity for the range extender module that will be commissioned and electrically tested based on standard methods for A-level battery prototypes.
The project has widened the collaboration in energy field and strengthen the relationship between with Germany among other countries. The participation of Altris (Swedish SME) as Na-ion battery provider, will be beneficial. Approach and implementation:
Following the EU call goals and requirements, we focused to build up the right competences, contacting directly partners from research and Industry. CIT carried out weekly meetings with partners defining the work and responsibility, accomplishing the writing of the final project. During the process we involved partners from Germany but also wider countries such as Greece balancing the consortia all the time between research, SME and industries.
CIT and Chalmers have contributed to the EU project by introducing Altris as Swedish SME, opening new collaborations with EU partners.
