Sweden-Singapore Agri-Food Tech Delegation 2023 - Optima Planta

Purpose and goal:

Optima Planta is a technology company in Sweden that has developed an aeroponic farming system and a method to use AI and closed controlled growing systems to find out what the optimal growing environments are for different plants. The objective of the project was to look for funding opportunities, business development and R&D partners and the goal was to create contacts that have good opportunities to lead to it.

After a successful delegation, these goals have been achieved and we have created good contacts within universities, among investors, and with potential business partners. Expected results and effects:

The effect of visiting the Singapore Agri-Food Tech Delegation 2023 as part of the Business Swedens delegation was expected to mean that during a few intensive days we would create many valuable contacts in funding, business development and R&D which will lead to faster progress in these areas.

Thanks to Business Sweden and their excellent planning and execution of the delegation enabled us to make valuable contacts in these three key areas in a short period of time. Approach and implementation: The 3-day event was planned to consist of the following agenda: Day 1: Visit Agrifood tech expo

Day 2: Visit companies and research-based academy and visit a demo day organized by Agfunder Grow Dag 3: Attend Business Pitching and networking at the organized event

The agenda changed slightly with some valuable additions but broadly followed the planned agenda. The majority of activities created immediate value for us, and others have potential to create value in a possible future expansion into Asia.
