We will produce a unique educational material for secondary schools.
The material ´Caring for the Baltic´ aims to increase knowledge about how and where decisions are made and strengthen students´ confidence in research and democratic processes.
It will orientate students in the political and management structures in place to care for the Baltic Sea.We will produce factual and visual material as well as several practical exercises to inspire and provide important insights.
All material will be digitally published and freely available. The goal is to provide better knowledge of society´s decision-making processes to create engagement and a will to contribute to the wellbeing of our inland sea.
To this end, the Baltic Sea and its environmental challenges are a manageable, yet integrated, part of society. The work involves our Policy Experts, whose knowledge in decision-making processes is invaluable.
We also have a Scientific Council with expertise in the challenges to be addressed: climate change, eutrophication, overfishing, environmental toxins and physical disturbance, as well as experts on the laws of the sea and on science education.
An external reference group of government officials provides further grounding in reality.A Reference Group of teachers is involved from the start and provides continuous feedback from tests in their classes.
They will act as ambassadors for the project, which will also be communicated through the Centre´s many channels and partnerships.
