For an equal and sustainable menstrual health

Purpose and goal:

The project aims to contribute to health and gender equality. This is done by implementing the entire value chain for the manufacture and distribution of an innovative menstrual sanitary pad for women living in environments without obvious access to water, sanitation and private spaces. Objectives of the project is to:

- optimize and verify an updated version of the product Spacerpad. - implement production flows and circular business models for both low- and high-income countries. - implement channels for information about how Spacerpad contributes to the global goals. Expected results and effects:

The project as a whole leads to durable and high-quality menstrual protection in the form of a sanitary pad being available primarily to end users who were previously without optimized solutions, but also to those with strong purchasing power This contributes to health, gender equality and sustainable consumption.

Approach and implementation: The project is implemented through four work packages: 1. Project management

2. Certification and product development: the product is certified and labeled in accordance with the existing standards for reusable menstrual pads in a number of countries.

3. Development of production processes: Update of existing concept for production unit and implementation of production process in India and Sweden.

4. Feasibility studies - business models: activities aimed at increasing women´s access to products and knowledge about women´s right to menstrual health.
