Trollhättan AI-based Tree inventory

Purpose and goal:

Within the framework of the T.AI.TRÄ project, AI and machine learning will be employed to automate the municipality´s tree inventory. This will be achieved by utilizing and analyzing information from existing data sources such as orthophotos and LAS scans. The project outcome will, among other things, facilitate the management of the city´s tree stock and enable better decision-making regarding outdoor environments and green areas. Additionally, the project aims to enhance the competence of Trollhättan city employees in AI.

Expected results and effects:

The stakeholder Trollhättan anticipates a successful tree inventory within the municipality of Trollhättan, as well as increased knowledge and understanding of how AI can streamline the city´s operations in various fields. At a minimum, the project expects the city to become a more informed purchaser of AI-related services, with a clear understanding of reasonable expectations for such services.

In the best-case scenario, the project may lead to the city expanding its own expertise in AI, or several employees learning to use digital tools for AI analysis, such as machine learning. Approach and implementation: AP1: Project Management Planning, budgeting, reporting to Vinnova, monitoring. Alignment with the application, participation in AI Sweden´s seminars.

AP2: Requirement and Needs Analysis Workshop planning, requirement definition, risk assessment, reporting. Workshop 1. AP3: Design and Implementation of the AI Solution Algorithm selection, data analysis, implementation, training, testing, and evaluation. AP4: Integration of the AI Solution System integration, testing, documentation, handover.
