Can AI find the hidden problem with excessive gambling?

Purpose and goal:

The main purpose of the project is to use AI to identify players with gambling problems and work proactively and reactively with actions for these individuals. We have 2 concrete objectives:

People in our operation has access to an AI solution that sufficiently reliably identifies people based on the risk of excessive gambling.

Folkspel has identified and implemented measures based on the AI solution aimed at reducing the risk to develop gambling problems.

A second purposeis to gain organizational learning in the form of operational know-how and technical competence within AI. Expected results and effects:

We have a long-term impact goal that we intend to measure over time, where we want to see that the proportion of players with a high risk value decreases. In this way, the project contributes to positive social effects and gender equality as a major focus is on our largest customer group, older women.

As we will also share information about the project within our part of the industry, we see that the project will make available a more effective way to fulfill our statutory duty of care. A final effect is to be able to apply AI in more business areas in the future. Approach and implementation:

The project will last for one year between November 2023 and October 2024 and is divided into 8 Work Packages with different time horizons. The key people come from different parts of the business and have very good competence to carry out their mission.

As we have hired cutting-edge expertise in AI from a leading consulting firm, we will use relatively many hours for competence transfer to our own employees.

The project has a steering group with representatives from the management team and regular communication inside and outside the organization is an important part of the project.
