Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

The purpose of the project is to develop a laser system based on nonlinear optics. The system will have several areas of application, including laser surgery with reduced scarring as well as material processing.

The ultimate goal of the project is to develop a laser that can cut into tissue substitutes. Collaborators for surgical lasers are to be contacted and for the other applications a pilot deal should be made. Expected results and effects: Expanded network of contacts in, for us, new business areas. Laser platform that can cut biological tissue substitutes.

Laser platform that can be easily adapted for different application areas. Generating knowledge and methods to package the product. Approach and implementation: The project will be implemented in four different stages.

The first stage involves producing a prototype of the laser platform that demonstrates that the technology can generate the different wavelengths needed. The second stage will scale up the energy in the system to reach all specifications. The third stage involves packaging the system so that we gets a market-ready product.

The fourth stage focuses on marketing to find future partners and customers.
