Purpose and goal:
The aim of the project was to develop a sensor that can be integrated directly on a cutting tool for temperature measurement during the machining process. The temperature control will help to get a better stearing of the machining process, e.g. less usage of cutting fluids. Expected results and effects:
The project showed that both silver and grafen can be used for integrated sensors on coated carbide inserts. However, the technology for isolation and masking need to be developed, hence, the functionallity test was not performed due to these limitations. Approach and implementation: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **
The project was mainly performed by the research partners, and the industry partners handled materials needed and technological aspects to the project.
At Swerim the design and functionality tests were performed, while RISE provided the sensor manufacturing technology and sensor materials.
Weekly work meetings between the research partners and monthly status update for all were held online. The project had a final hybrid presentation at Swerim.
