Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

Anatolii Makhinia will make a transition from the tasks of a graduate student to those of a researcher. This will involve participation in ongoing national and international projects and further development of skills. He will also contribute to printing activities, foster collaborations and participate in writing project proposals within cutting-edge R&D areas, focusing on sustainable electronics beneficial for both academic and industrial partners. Training in project management and implementation will be additional activities.

Expected results and effects:

Participation in ongoing projects will lead to the development of printed electronic devices, strengthening and learning new skills, such as data analysis and programming, development of semiconductor and electrolyte inks, and employment of material characterization techniques like impedance spectroscopy, etc. Anatolii Makhinia will also learn the basics of project proposal writing, i.e., finding and understanding the research calls for young researchers, and foster collaboration with partners, e.g., from project consortiums of previously granted research projects.

Approach and implementation: Project plan (Supervisor: Peter Andersson Ersman):

- Developing the next generation of sustainable printed electronic devices, e.g., organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs), in the framework of national and international projects. - Development of programming skills for data acquisition and analysis. - Contribute to printing activities in existing research projects.

Milestones: -Sustainable ink development for additive manufacturing. -Design and implementation of novel OECT device architectures. -Participate in research proposal writing.
