Purpose and goal:

The project´s objective is to give Mujtaba Hassan the opportunity to be integrated into the Swedish job market, in order to maintain international excellence in Sweden. The project he will work on at Oncopeptides aims to synthesize peptides via SPPS (solid-phase peptide synthesis). Expected results and effects:

We expect Mujtaba to contribute with his excellent skills in organic chemistry and experience of addressing challenges in closely related biology areas, to Oncopeptides´s research within the Spike platform. This would give him valuable experiences for his future carrier and increase his possibilities to get integrated in Sweden. Furthermore, research in SPPS can lead to innovative peptide-based drugs, benefiting both the industry and public health.

Approach and implementation: Mujtaba will work with: 1. Peptide synthesis via SPPS (soli-phase peptide synthesis) 2. Purification and analysis of the produced peptides 3. Linking of the polypeptides 4. Design of new polypeptides, based on evaluation of the biological data
