Purpose and goal:
The project complements FAIR data principles that focus on data access, interoperability and reusability, with a responsible data scientist, operator, analyst or owner. It introduces JUST data annotation that encourages those working with data to be Judicious, Unbiased, Safe and Transparent. It is not intended as a metric but sets guidelines for data literacy about bias, sensitive data, the context of data collection and data provenance.
Expected results and effects:
The project anticipates an industry-standard for responsible technology development in Swedish industry. It hopes to set Sweden as a competitive leader in this domain. Engaging the Advisory Board as champions, the project aims for wider adoption across Swedish industry actors, promoting gender equality and responsible data practices. Collaboration with prominent industrial partners is expected to strengthen the industrial ecosystem.
Approach and implementation:
The project will prototype a participatory digital system by April 2024, developing Metadata for JUST data annotation and targeting standardisation by Autumn 2024. We will partner with the Luleå University of Technology (AI Fabrik /JÄRNVÄG - Evolutionen) and RISE (Nationellt rymsdatalabb 3.0) Data Labs funded by the Vinnova Advanced Digitalisation program to run two testbeds in Spring and Autumn. The testbeds will disseminate responsible data practices, promoting equitable industrial growth.
