Purpose and goal:
The project aims to investigate how companies formulate policies, establish structures, and implement controls to facilitate a transition toward climate neutrality and circular practices. It focuses on examining how these companies adapt to new regulations, aligning their strategies. The goal of the project is to develop a comprehensive roadmap of opportunities, challenges, and potential goal conflicts that emerge throughout the transition process.
The analysis will encompass both the strategic and operational levels, where new policies are developed and implemented. Expected results and effects:
The project aims to comprehensively examine the practical implementation of sustainability regulations, offering significant potential for fourfold knowledge dissemination effects: 1) Providing feedback for ongoing norm development in Swedish regulation; 2) Disseminating knowledge to similar industrial enterprises; 3) Publishing scientific results, and 4) Creating a useful ´Case´ for educational purposes.
Approach and implementation:
We will conduct a case study that focuses on the real-time transformation of a large industrial company. First, we intend to investigate and analyze how the company has planned and initiated a reorganization to adapt to a climate-neutral and circular transition. Next, we plan to systematize various measures and levels in companies´ efforts related to the transition, particularly in connection with the implementation of CSRD.
Additionally, we will explore implications, examining what companies, industries, regulators, and researchers can learn from the study in a wider context.
