APPEND - Digital Product Passport to Revolutionize the Furniture Industry

Purpose and goal:

The purpose of this project is to transform the furniture and interior design industry by designing, developing and validating a DPP prototype.

The goal is to demonstrate a functioning DPP together with a potential customer / participating interior design company in the project on an industry-relevant platform in the spring of 2025. Expected results and effects:

Through the implementation of the project, the furniture and interior design industry will be ready for a digital transformation that prioritizes sustainability, circularity and transparency. This in turn contributes to new business models, as well as the EU´s objective of becoming climate neutral by 2050. The project increases knowledge about the production and use of materials, which contributes to sustainable development.

Approach and implementation:

The project includes actors, organizations, processes and technical systems that need to work together to achieve the result. LNU contributes with research competence, ICS network of SMEs and practical knowledge of production challenges, Sigma Technology coordinates the information structure and Delori is a technology Provider. The project includes development, testing and evaluation of the user-friendliness of DPP.

Through the project´s activities, all involved partners will explore innovative data-driven business models in the value chains.
