National collaboration for implementation of 3D-printing in healthcare

Purpose and goal: This strategic project is a collaboration between several regional hospitals that develop in-house 3Dprinting facilities with the aim to exchange experiences and drive strategic initiatives to facilitate and stimulate the implementation of 3D printing in healthcare. The project will focus on regulatory

strategies, health economic perspectives and collaboration models between 3D printing companies and healthcare. Expected results and effects:

Strengthen national cooperation and competitiveness in an international perspective and enable an efficient and patient-safe implementation of 3D printing in healthcare. The project contributes to a faster implementation of innovative medical technology by clarifying regulatory requirements for healthcare,

streamlining collaboration processes and agreements between healthcare and companies. In addition, the project is working to generate evidence that shows the health economic benefits, which will increase interest in investments in this technology. Approach and implementation: The project will be divided into 4 work packages, of which 1 more comprehensive and broader forum for

networking and exchange of experience, Forum 3D printing in healthcare (AP1), and 3 more focused and operational work packages within which specific activities will be carried out: Regulatory strategies (AP2), Model for cooperation between business and healthcare (AP3) and Health economic effects of 3Dprinting

in healthcare (AP4). The project parties listed in the project have all been highly involved in forming the project plan and activities during the application phase.
