SMRID Swedish Mining Research and Innovation Day 2024

Purpose and goal:

The strategic innovation program for the Swedish mining and metal extracting industry, SIP SMI (Swedish Mining Innovation) is based on the strategic research and innovation agenda that was presented in spring 2013 (with updated versions in 2016, 2019, 2022) as part of activities that the program must run has been determined by the board that the program office must annually hold a conference to highlight current projects and discuss issues concerning Swedish mining innovation, as well as to form a platform for networking and dialogue between various stakeholders and actors.

Expected results and effects:

The expected results are to raise and discuss key issues, in mining innovation in Sweden and as well to strenthen the networks and involve new actors in the mining innovation landscape. Projects results from SMI projects will also be communicated. Approach and implementation:

The conference will be held in early May as a one-day event or alternately as a lunch-lunch conference. In order for the conference to be successful, a lot of time needs to be spent on securing access to the invited speakers that SIP SMI´s management and Svemin´s FoI committee deem relevant to the conference´s theme. Bergforsk awards will also be awarded at the event. Planning of the event will begin in 2023. Advertizing of the event will start in early 2024.
