5G communication systems have barely started to be deployed and the scientific community is already formulating visions for 6G. An important aspect 6G will be the tight integration of localization and radar sensing within the communication system.
Combined, they will support a variety of applications, such as digital twinning, extended reality, autonomous driving, and inter-robot collaboration.
These technologies have the potential to be used in safety-critical applications, so it is important to ensure that they are secure from attacks that could modify the location information and thereby lead to accidents.
This project aims to study new ways to enhance the security and reliability of location-based services in 5G and Beyond 5G systems.
We will develop new methods to improve the integrity and security of location services by studying novel attack scenarios and analyzing the impact of these attacks.
We will also develop countermeasures to mitigate these attacks and demonstrate their effectiveness using a real testbed.
The project is expected to have a significant impact on the scientific community and will contribute to the development of more secure and reliable location-based services.
