Grant Description

Purpose and goal: The project is an SME-project within the frames of the Competence centre BASE.

The scope is to utilize Percy Roc’s controlled microwave heating technology to develope energy-efficient reduction of Graphene Oxide in combination with Graphmatech´s Aros Graphene® process to produce a highly conductive and dispersible graphene material tailored for application in batteries. The project focuses on balancing two objectives: Highest possible conductivity of the graphene material and lowest possible energy consumption during the reduction.

Expected results and effects:

The project is expected to enable energy and cost-effective production of Aros Graphene® optimized for application as an additive in battery electrodes. Approach and implementation:

The work of the project is divided into work packages (WP). WP1 and WP2 addresses two different potential routes for reduction, thermal reduction and a combination of chemical and thermal reduction. Percy Roc will perform and run the reduction tests and Graphmatech will participate with knowledge on the raw material reduction of it.

The most promising samples will be evaluated by Graphmatech in WP3 as raw material for Aros Graphene. In WP4, the results on lab-scale will be utilized to take one material to the pilot scale and the final process will be assessed in terms of the two project goals.
