Purpose and goal:
The project´s objective has been to, through close collaboration with an expert in medical engineering, as well as ongoing knowledge transfer, strengthen the company´s ability to develop medical engineering systems in thoracic and transplant surgery.
This has been achieved by integrating the expert into the company´s R&D team. In addition to ongoing knowledge transfer, the project has contributed to a new concept for a crucial step in transplant logistics, which is currently undergoing patent examination. Expected results and effects:
The result is, in addition to the strengthening of skills that the project entailed, that we are now closer to the clinic. Specifically, we have an ongoing intellectual property protection process, as well as ethics approval and funding for a first human study. Approach and implementation:
The layout of the project has followed the project plan. The expert has been integrated into the R&D team and this has worked well both in terms of concrete technical work and ongoing competence transfer.
