The global research and innovation landscape has changed significantly since the late 1990s. The changed geopolitical context creates new conditions for Swedish research performers´ international collaborations. The project aims to create knowledge around these issues through an analysis that identifies and explains the challenges related to open research and security as well as possible approaches to deal with these challenges.

To contribute with knowledge/analysis about - and a deeper understanding of - how the geopolitical context has changed and how Swedish universities are affected by the changed context. Analysis of data and documents (primary and secondary sources) and interviews. The analysis is also based on the authors´ knowledge of the subject and insights into ongoing policy processes in Sweden and abroad.
