Purpose and goal:

The purpose of the project was to organize the Swedish Production Symposium 2024 (SPS2024) in Trollhättan, focusing on promoting research exchange and collaboration in sustainable production, advanced manufacturing, and intelligent automation. The goal was to create a platform for academics, industry professionals, and other stakeholders to share knowledge, discuss future challenges and opportunities, and strengthen collaborations between universities and industry to drive innovation in sustainable production.

Expected results and effects:

The conference resulted in 59 scientific articles being presented and published in the conference proceedings. New collaborations were initiated between academic institutions and industry partners, which strengthens future research and innovation in sustainable production. The participants reported positive effects on the exchange of knowledge and the possibilities for further collaboration.

Approach and implementation:

The project followed a clear plan with a focus on ensuring high quality in both content and logistics. The collaboration between Högskolan Väst, Svenska Produktionsakademien and Product Development Academy worked very well, which led to a smooth implementation process. The main challenges, such as coordinating international speakers and ensuring broad participation, were successfully addressed.
