Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

The overall aim is to develop a clinical decision support system for intracranial aneurysm volumetric change quantification. To achieve this aim, we plan to set up an image database in the project, develop methods for fast, accurate, precise and reproducible quantification of intracranial aneurysms from CTA/MRA scans and for federated learning, as well as implementing the methods in the PACS system for clinical use.

Expected results and effects:

We expect the project to result in a segmentation framework and volumetric quantification of intracranial aneurysm from of CTA/MRA scans, easily accessible through a user interface seamlessly integrated in the radiologists’ clinical work. A multimodal image database for diagnosis of intracranial aneurysm will be collected.

The developed methods will enable better treatment follow-up of intracranial aneurysms, which are present in about 5% of the population with high morbidity and mortality. Approach and implementation: The project will be carried out in work packages that largely follow the aims in the project. Two Indian PhD students will be recruited within this project. A PostDoc will be recruited in Sweden.

We will continue our weekly meetings, and close connection between the involved universities and hospitals.
