The overarching goal is to improve secondary prevention following a first stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) by supplying nationwide access to physical exercise and support for physical activity via mobile health (mHealth). This planning study aims to:Develop a research design and clinical procedures for a large person-centered multicenter Sequential Multiple Assignment Randomized Trial (SMART).Improve mHealth solutions through a co-design process with end-users to enhance program individualization and scalability.Test the feasibility of innovative mHealth solutions. This planning project, building on our experiences of mHealth-delivered physical activity from a large pilot randomized controlled trial (n=120), will be carried out in collaboration between Umeå University, Karolinska Institutet and Lund University, and includes 3 work packages:Collaborative work in the interdisciplinary team to develop and plan the SMART including the design, regional clinical network, steering group with stakeholders, recruitment strategies and mHealth educational module for physiotherapists.Co-design study to develop the mHealth solution in collaboration with end users.Multiple case studies to test the feasibility of new mHealth modules and procedures in a clinical setting. We aim for an innovative multicenter clinical trial that will investigate the effects and costs of a mHealth intervention promoting tailored physical activity among people post stroke/TIA across Sweden.
