Grant Description

For over 20-years Space Weaher is a rapidly growing research field.

There is a growing interest from governemtns, sevice providers and industry that Space Weather research should be more focused on societal needs, and that research efforts be optimized in close contact and coordination with stakeholders utilizing space assets.

Thus. international authorities like the UN, COSPAR, WMO and others have started common efforts to coordinate and consolidate both research and operationala activities, to better serve our growingly technology-dependent society.This project deals with the international coordination of space weather research and operational efforts.

Through Swedish membership in the organsiations above, and with Swedish involvements in missions of ESA and NASA, such consolidation efforts will be beneficial for Swedish scientists.

It will allow them to better identify timely investments into new space missions and research opportunities of wider societal impacts.
