Purpose and goal:
This project aims to cut maritime CO2 emissions, leveraging the iHelm system by Swedish Cetasol, which reduces fuel use and emissions by 10-35% through AI. In collaboration with Tele2, it showcases this tech in Singapore using a demo vessel, aligning with global emission targets and promoting gender diversity. This represents a major step towards sustainable maritime operations and digital adoption between Sweden and Singapore.
Expected results and effects: Reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 10-20% within a year using the iHelm system. Successfully install and evaluate the system on a tugboat, with follow-ups at 1, 6, and 12 months. Adapt a connectivity solution for the Singapore market by April 2024.
Establish a business case for the iHelm system, demonstrating economic and environmental benefits in Singapore’s maritime industry. Approach and implementation:
The iHelm system will be installed on a tugboat in Singapore by April 2024, with operational evaluations at 1, 6, and 12 months to assess performance improvements. Tele2´s connectivity solutions will be adapted and tested for the local market by April 2024. The project aims to demonstrate economic and environmental benefits of the iHelm system, establishing a compelling business case for its adoption in Singapore’s maritime industry, with potential scale-up across additional vessels.
