Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

The project contributes to a bio-based social economy by opening up the possibility that more bio-based materials can be used in more applications and thereby contribute to reduced climate impact. The purpose of the project is to show bio-based products and systems that meet the requirements for secure buildings and thus make it easier to order and planning alternative sustainable solutions and contribute to bio-based business models.

The goal is for the parties to jointly produce verified, resource-efficient and durable prototypes of wall and floor elements. Expected results and effects:

The result is prototypes that verify and document functions such as wear, watertightness, economy, climate load that are needed in sacure buildings. By demonstrating new solutions and new applications, developers can choose to build more climate neutrally. The effect is that the climate load is abridged for the built environment and the dependence on materials is reduced.

Approach and implementation:

Based on identified safety requirements and existing research, various possible construction solutions for wall and floor elements are investigated based on material combinations, material selection, strength, safety and climate impact, and some tests are carried out in the lab. Methods that will mainly be used are fact-gathering, interviews, workshops and testing of prototypes.
