Purpose and goal: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Quantum-limited parametric amplifiers (TWPA) need a so-called pump to add energy to the amplified signal. In quantum applications, this pump has often been supplied TWPAn from an instrument. This is expensive and makes the set-up clumsy.
In the project we want to create an oscillator based on Josephson transitions which is placed directly in the cryogenic environment on a chip. The end goal is to be able to place the oscillator on the same chip as the TWPA. Expected results and effects: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **
That by the end of the project we have created a process to manufacture Josephson oscillators to drive parametric quantum-limited amplifiers. Approach and implementation: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **
The project will be done in close collaboration between Chalmers and WACQT-IP. WACQT-IP has commercial interest and knowledge at the same time as the technical expertise and the equipment needed to carry out the project is available within Chalmers. One person will, after defending his thesis in the fall, transfer to WACQT-IP to continue as technical leader for the TWPA commercialization there.
The team has completed several similar project in the past and we use our knowledge to accurately estimate the time and budget required to complete this project.
