Scaling up the production of a new generation of Iron sources

Purpose and goal:

The goal of this project is to scale up the production of our active compound to grams per L in a commercial robust strain in addition to showing a trajectory of upscaling the process to a commercial level. Expected results and effects:

At the end of the project, the expected result is to have a production system to in which we can produce grams per Liter quantities of our active compound. This production system will be taken into pilot production and eventually into industrial production. Approach and implementation:

The project consists of five Work Packages (WP) that aim to reach TRL Level 6. This will ensure a speedy entry into pilot phase and a market entry by late 2025 based on pilot production. WP1: Cloning Strategy and Gene ordering. WP2: Expression Confirmation and Optimization of the protein in fungi WP3: Host and culture conditions optimization.

WP4: Down-Stream Process Development. WP5: Pilot Scaling in a 20L bioreactor both for USP and DSP.
