Purpose and goal:
Quantum computers are predicted to be able to solve several major challenges facing humanity. Quantum computers based on superconductors is the technology today with the highest confidence as a realistic path to functional solutions. One of the biggest challenges with that technology is to scale up the number of qubits in today´s systems.
In this project, we want to develop a cost-efficient solution with improved performance for larger systems with superconducting quantum bits. The goal is to demonstrate the relevant technologies and principles. Expected results and effects:
The current approach to superconducting quantum computers does not scale to the required level to for example, accelerate the development of new pharmaceutical drugs. We see the proposed solutions as an important step to building quantum systems capable of solving useful problems. Approach and implementation:
The project is planned over 12 months and divided into six work packages. The project will mainly focus on the development of the technology. The project is in collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology.
