Purpose and goal:

"Welcome to the table!" aims to revolutionise mealtime experiences for older people by imagining a future where no older person is malnourished and meals are a source of joy and well-being. The project is based on the societal challenges of an ageing population and the shortcomings in elderly care. The aim is to develop and implement meal prototypes for future scenarios of what we would like to be like when we grow old, creating a paradigm shift in how society views and cares for its elderly.

Expected results and effects: Activity: Design and prototype meal experiences that portray societal challenges and signals. Outputs: Discussions and dialogues on the future of meals for older people.

Outcome: Insights, documentations and communication materials that can be used to convince policy makers to take the necessary steps for a systemic change around older people´s meals and food culture. Approach and implementation:

Explore and develop future scenarios with strategic foresight which lays the foundation for the development of the future prototype.

Design and develop meal scenarios based on future signals. Test and refine meal scenarios in an iterative process that will be tested at the Nollvision malnutrition national conference in November and Vinnova vernissage in January. Analyse and compare reactions and input on the scenarios from participants and stakeholders and adjust the future prototype.
