Q-3DCAN - planning grant MSCA DN

Purpose and goal:

The project is a pilot for a proposal to the international call, the doctoral research school "Horizon-MSCA-2024-DN-01-01". The project includes 10-15 partners in Europe who work together for a high quality and excellent proposal. In the project, proof-of-concept studies are conducted with new in vitro models and cell systems involving 3D models of colorectal cancer.

The aim is to model the extracellular matrix components and different cell types in vitro, including immune cells. The project also sees partners in Europe for discussions, as well as use consultancy work. Expected results and effects:

The project is expected to yield a positive outcome in the call "Horizon-MSCA-2024-DN-01-01". If the project is approved, 10-15 partners in Europe will hire about 10 doctoral students who will work with new in vitro models and cell systems involving 3D models of colorectal cancer. In vitro models that are missing today will be developed, such as complete 3D models for both primary and metastatic colorectal cancer.

The cell models include components in the form of both proteins, immune cells and supporting cells. The project also includes applications at the gene and protein level. Approach and implementation: The project period is May-November 2024, and the following will be carried out:

-Proof-of-concept studies with new in vitro models and cell systems involving 3D models of colorectal cancer including extracellular matrix, supporting cells and immune cells. Evaluation of these models will be done carefully and insert valuable preliminary results in the proposal. -Travel to new partners in Europe, meetings and discussions with partners on site in their research location.

-Write a proposal with high quality for the call "Horizon-MSCA-2024-DN-01-01" and include consulting work.
