Purpose and goal:
The project aims to build a strong consortium, project and proposal to apply for a grant of 4 million Euros in the Horizon Europe call "Critical technologies for the future ocean energy farms". The planning grant will cover necessary costs in connection with this process, including travel costs for planning meetings. The consortium connects actors along the entire value chain in marine energy research and development and includes both academic and industrial parties from several European countries.
Expected results and effects:
The main result of the project is a very strong international proposal to Horisont Europa, and linked to this an initiated collaboration between leading parties in Europe in marine energy. Granted, the project will contribute to new knowledge and knowledge transfer that will significantly advance the technical maturity of marine energy (wave and tidal power).
The development of reliable and economically viable technologies for renewable energy extraction is a key to long-term sustainability for industry and society. Approach and implementation:
The project extends from April 2024 to January 2025. Before the summer of 2024, the consortium and overall responsibilities, work packages and project goals will be decided. A detailed analysis of the sector´s needs is carried out and knowledge gaps or challenges are identified.
During the fall of 2024, planning meetings are held, the project is planned in detail, and a winning proposal is written. Here, the consortium will be assisted by experts within Horizon Europe projects. The proposal will be more or less ready in December and will be submitted in its final form in January 2025.
