Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

The project aims to create a high-quality proposal for Horizon Europe Mission Cancer, the call for proposals HORIZON-MISS-2024-CANCER-01-05: Improving the understanding and management of late-effects in adolescents and young adults (AYA) with cancer. The goal of the planning grant is to create a strong consortium and support Sahlgrenska Sjukhusets´s coordination of proposal.

This includes defining work packages that starts from a multicenter study around a lifestyle intervention and combines this with health and socioeconomic modeling and evaluation. Expected results and effects:

Main impact is a project design that provides increased knowledge about effective interventions to reduce complications for young people who have had cancer. The knowledge applies to the target group and wider socio-economic effects. This, in turn, is expected to provide good decision-making support for further implementation of lifestyle interventions for the target group.

Results of the project is a competitive proposal for the call for proposals and that new networks and contacts between researchers, interest organizations and disciplines are established. Approach and implementation:

Until the proposal is submitted on September 18, 2024, the project will focus on building the consortium, developing the work packages and writing a convincing proposal where the common thread from the lifestyle intervention to Mission Cancers´s strategic objective is clear. Sahlgrenska will coordinate proposal and RISE will support developing and writing proposal.

RISE will also take responsibility for defining the health and socioeconomic modelling. Ung Cancer will ensure that the target group´s perspective and inclusion is well integrated into the project.
