Fuel Processing Unit for e-Methanol for Marine HTPEMFC Applications

Purpose and goal:

The aim is to prepare a proposal in a call for proposals from Eureka Eurostars, based on a joint project between Catator and two other project partners. Within the framework of the planning project, we will finalize the consortium of partners and examine the current state-of-the-art and competitive situation. The goal is to write a winning proposal before the September 2024 deadline.

The objective is to develop and demonstrate a compact and integrated e-methanol fuel processing unit (eMFPU) for high-efficiency proton exchange membrane fuel cells (HTPEMFC) in marine applications. Expected results and effects:

Through this project we expect to put together the best possible consortium for our main project, as well as strengthen and complete a winning proposal in Eurostars call for proposals with a deadline in September 2024. Approach and implementation:

The approach for the planning project is to engage in dialogue with our intended project partners during April and May to establish the framework for the main project, which is to develop a fuel treatment unit for e-methanol in marine HTPEMFC applications. We will complete our proposal for the Eurostars call together with our project partners and with support of a writing consultant during the period from June to September.
