Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

With this preliminary study, we want to review what is being done well today, map out risks, and clarify areas for development related to the work of incubators in attracting and recruiting companies from a diversity and inclusion perspective.

The preliminary study will form the basis for a more comprehensive project where a toolbox for incubators´ recruitment and screening processes can be developed. Expected results and effects:

Our experience confirms that there is untapped potential in developing the diversity aspects of incubator processes to strengthen the Swedish startup scene, and we believe there is a willingness to implement processes that would broaden the target group of incubators and, in the long run, increase the inflow of companies seeking them out.

Approach and implementation:

We will analyze the recruitment/application process of incubators. The project is a preliminary study intended to form the basis for the development of a process and support material to be used by incubators that want to ensure they always operate from a diversity and inclusion perspective when recruiting companies.

Two parts of the recruitment process will be mapped out: Communication/Application Process & Selection/Screening Process.
