Seeds of change in local food systems

Purpose and goal:

The project will collect, share and spread seeds of change, interesting solutions and possible levers that can transform the food system from the Chisinau area in Moldova, the Vidzeme region in Latvia, Estonia, Östergötland in Sweden and within aquaponic solutions. With a joint foresight workshop in Estonia, we will mobilize, and then act and use our networks and channels to inspire more people to commit to a more sustainable food system.

Expected results and effects: Expected results are at least 20 collected seeds of change and 20 collected signals

from different countries. Expected results of the Foresight Workshop in Estonia are a common picture of how we want the food system to look in the future, a desire for mobilization and activity. Communication of the seeds of change, the levers and the workshop results via networks, social media and websites is expected to lead to effects such as increased mobilization to secure sustainable local food supply and strengthen the work around our mission and innovation platform Food for All.

Approach and implementation:

Sarah Thorsaeus, project manager, organizes and distributes the work and handles administration together with Caroline Mattsson. The participating organizations in Moldova, Estonia, Latvia and Sweden carry out local signals intelligence and collect seeds of change that can transform the food system. A joint foresight workshop is being held in Estonia in June.

The result of the foresight work is shared in networks and channels, to increase interest in the issue and mobilize more local forces to secure the food supply and strengthen the work around our mission.
