The purpose of the trip was to get a picture of the current situation in the areas of safe AI and civil-military synergies. Both of these areas were addressed in conference presentations as well as in conversations with relevant organizations on the ground in the USA. There are insights from the conversations and presentations that will be useful for Sweden. Both areas have a high priority in the technology development/adaptation that is now taking place in society, and it is of great importance that Sweden stays at the forefront of responsible technology development.

The trip to the USA included participation in two conferences, site visits to several companies and research organizations, as well as conversations with Swedish organizations on site.
