Shared micromobility & public transport: a users perspective.

Purpose and goal:

This purpose of this project is to complement existing knowledge regarding the user perspective on the integration and complementarity of shared micromobility services and public transport. The goal is to form a knowledge-basis for strategic decision making in the transport sector, for actors such as municipalities, public transport agencies, micro mobility actors and governmental agencies.

Expected results and effects:

TThe project will give stakeholders increased insight into the driving forces and needs which are most important to take into account and understand when designing offers and offer in terms of micromobility and public transport in interaction, as well as to give stakeholders increased insight into which values (for users and society) that shared micromobility services in combination with public transport can create.

Approach and implementation:

Using in-depth interviewing in Gothenburg and Malmö, we will gather insights into the needs and behaviors of the end users. This will be followed by a quantitative survey in both cities to understand the implications of our findings on a larger scale. The project will be contextualized by a litterature review, running in parallel with the empirical studies.

The results will form a basis for strategic decision making in the transport sector, for actors such as municipalities, public transport agencies, micro mobility actors and governmental agencies.
