Sustainable digital textile manufacturing On-demand and DPP

Purpose and goal:

The project revolutionises the textile industry by digitalising harmful production processes, reducing CO2 emissions, water usage, and harmful chemicals. The Digital Product Passport enables transparent verification across the value chain, benefiting SMEs. A testbed and workshops promote research and support startups in sustainable textile production. The project develops cost-effective prototypes and supports circular solutions through education and collaboration.

Expected results and effects:

The project is expected to reduce CO2 emissions, water usage, and harmful chemicals by digitalising textile production. The Digital Product Passport is introduced for transparent data verification and promotes sustainability, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises. A testbed and workshops support research and startups and disseminate results widely.

The project develops cost-effective prototypes and promotes circular solutions through education and collaboration, creating a sustainable and innovative textile industry. Approach and implementation:

AP1: Develop a technical plan and implement DPP with manufacturing interfaces. The goal is to create a manufacturing interface, adapt DPP for diversified textile manufacturing, and integrate environmental data.

AP2: Develop solutions linked to manufacturing and DPP for multifunctional flows and services. The goal is 4-5 workshops to build the test platform through collaborations with research and businesses.

AP3: Document and describe functions and possibilities. Develop the concept and business model for multi-circular production, laying the foundation for franchising.
