The CPUP Days will be held at Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö on October 7-8, 2024.CPUP is a national follow-up program and quality register for individuals with cerebral palsy (CP), which started in 1994. Since 2006, over 95% of all children with CP in Sweden have been followed in CPUP.
Similar programs to CPUP now exist in Norway, Denmark, Iceland, and the United Kingdom. The CPUP Days include a clinical component where the follow-up program is discussed.
Parallel to this, a multidisciplinary scientific program is organized, and it is for this part that we are seeking contributions from Forte.
The program includes plenary lectures and up to 10 parallel sessions. The CPUP database contains longitudinal data from the total population of children with CP and is now extensive enough to conduct studies based on AI technology.
Several Nordic research projects based on the countries´ similar data collections are also underway. The CPUP Days are organized in collaboration with the user association for cerebral palsy, CP Sweden.
We strive for user involvement in the interprofessional sessions. The scientific program consists of the following parts:Research presentations by invited mainly Nordic researchers prominent in the field of disabilities.Reporting of the 6-year Forte project "Moving Forward with Cerebral Palsy" (Ref.
No. 2018-01468).Presentation of scientific studies related to disabilities after abstract assessment.Nordic research using CPUP data with invited speakers from other Nordic countries.Seminar on how we can use the CPUP database and other registries in registry-randomized studies and studies based on AI technology.Target audience: Researchers and academics from all participating professions: orthopedists, neurologists, hand surgeons, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists.Estimated number of participants: 500–600 for the entire conference, with 200–300 expected to participate in the scientific part.
