Take away - de-implementation of old working methods when there are better alternatives

During this hybrid conference, knowledge about deimplementation will be presented and made available to practitioners at different levels within municipalities, regions and non-profit organizations.

The conference is based on results from the FORTE study "Take away - deimplementation of established working methods when introducing new psychosocial interventions for homeless and people with mental illness".

The conference aims to together with practitioners build an understanding of the relevance of de-implementation and to discuss how knowledge from the project´s results can be translated into practical social work.

The conference is motivated by the need knowledge diffusion about the deimplementation of unnecessary work methods when there are better alternatives being implemented.

The conference ties in well with the theme of the FORTE Talks in May 2024 regarding the changes that may be required to meet current needs in the welfare area.

The Swedish social services is facing significant challenges in the transition work required to live up to the new Social Services Act, which is expected to enter into force in 2025.

Changes will then be required from the current emphasis on remedial interventions and exercises of authority towards more preventive work.

To cope with such a transition, new perspectives and tools are required - something this conference wants to contribute to.

The conference is conducted on site in Lund as well as by zoom and will be conducted the project´s researchers from two faculties at Lund University together with Experio Lab/Samhällsnytta AB at Karlstad University and SKR.
